  1. do you have the installation disk still?
    if so re-install from scratch
Try rebooting the comp with the camera in the usb
I take it you have the camera switched on when attached and file tranfer mode is selected(if applicable)?

  2. Try uninstalling what you’ve done so far. Disconnect the camera from the PC and reboot. Once you are ready to begin again, install the drivers without the camera connected to the PC. Leave it disconnected until the installation asks you to connect, or has completed. Reboot the PC and plug the camera in.

You may like to download the latest driver from the camera manufacturer website and install that – if installation from the CD still fails.

Alternatively you may somehow have a faulty cable. I’ve assumed that the camera is set correctly to communicate with the PC.

Try uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them using the original installation disk if you still have it – sometimes updating the drivers doesn’t always work. If you don’t have the disk, try doing a Google search under your camera make and model, and there may be a downloadable version of the drivers. Its still worth trying a search even if you have the original CD as there may be an updated version of the same driver on the disk available. Hope this helps :-)

  5. you should put in a disc which you can get from the shop you bought it from

Install the drivers from either the manufacturers website or from bundled instalation disks.
